Items Delivered Less Than Perfect

We go to great lengths to ensure that your gear arrives in perfect condition. If items are delivered missing parts, damaged or defective, we will cover it by replacing the item/part at no cost to you.

To report a less than perfect situation, please Contact Us via email or call1-800-632-7210 . Provide details including images if possible so we can diagnose the issue and quickly evaluate your request.

After receiving the request, it may take up to 3 days to process and determine its validity. If approved, we will reach out to you regarding the next steps. The original item must be returned before the replacement can be shipped. SwellSpy will cover return shipping by providing shipping labels or refunding the shipping cost with a valid shipping receipt. Once your return is received and inspected, we will initiate the replacement process. It may take up to 14 days for the replacement item to arrive.

30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

SwellSpy provides a 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee – try our products for 30 days and if you are unsatisfied for any reason you may exchange your item(s) or return them for a store credit. After 30 days from the date of delivery, we can no longer offer a refund or exchange due to a change of mind.

In the case of return or exchange, you will pay non-refundable return shipping costs. Because shipping involves a third party we cannot independently guarantee that the returned item will be received. Consider using a trackable shipping service, purchasing insurance, or contact us for a return shipping quote.

Once the package is returned, it may take up to 14 days to inspect and process the returned items. If the item is damaged or missing parts for errors not due to SwellSpy, only partial refunds will be granted based on SwellSpy's sole discretion. If your return is approved, then the refund will be issued to your original payment method within 7 days. It may take up to 30 days for the refund to be visible on your credit card statement. In case of an exchange, we will process and reconcile any cost difference between the original item and the exchange.

We encourage you to save the cardboard box for the 30-day duration in case you choose to return.

Returns for Surfboards and Board Bags

30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee:

  • Surfboards and board bags are eligible for return within 30 days of delivery
  • Items must be unused, in original condition, with all original packaging
  • Original tags and protective materials must be intact

Return Shipping Costs:

  • Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on surfboards and board bags
  • We recommend using a trackable, insured shipping method

Estimated return shipping costs:

    • Surfboards under 7'0": $75-$125
    • Surfboards 7'1" - 8'0": $125-$175
    • Surfboards 8'1" and over: $175-$275
    • Board bags: $25-$50

Restocking Fee:

  • A 15% restocking fee applies to all surfboard and board bag returns
  • This fee covers inspection, repackaging, and listing costs
  • Restocking fee is waived for damaged or defective items

Damaged or Defective Items:

  • If your surfboard or board bag arrives damaged or defective, we will cover all return shipping costs
  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage
  • We will provide a prepaid shipping label or reimburse your return shipping costs
  • No restocking fee applies to damaged or defective items

Refund Method:

  • Refunds issued to original payment method within 7 business days of receiving return
  • Restocking fee (if applicable) will be deducted from refund
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable

Non-Returnable Surfboards:

  • Custom-ordered surfboards with specific dimensions or artwork
  • Surfboards showing signs of use (wax residue, dings, scratches)
  • Clearance or final sale items

Shopify Collective Partner Returns

Some of our products are fulfilled by partner brands through Shopify Collective. In those cases, the return rules, fees, and shipping labels are subject to the supplier’s return policy.

What this means for you:

  • We’ll coordinate all returns on your behalf — you won’t need to contact the supplier directly.

  • Certain suppliers may have different return windows or restocking fees, which we’ll communicate if they apply to your order.

  • Refunds are issued once the supplier confirms receipt and approval of the returned item.
